Research Project by the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Coal Geology Focuses on Rope Core Sampling Technology in Complex Strata

In April 2026, the key research project of the Anhui Provincial Coal Geology Bureau, titled “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Safe and Efficient Drilling in Complex Structures,” successfully passed its final acceptance review. The project focused on addressing construction challenges in complex geological conditions—such as alternating soft and hard strata, multiple superimposed coal seams, and prone-to-collapse borehole walls—and systematically carried out research on large-diameter wireline coring drill string assemblies, the selection of drilling equipment, and the development of PDC drill bits. The expert panel concluded that the project’s findings are highly targeted and provide significant technical support for drilling operations in complex geological structures during coalfield geological exploration.
